Punjab Government Updated List of Banned Organisations and Charities

The Punjab Home Department has issued an updated list of banned organizations and charitable institutions, taking further steps to combat extremism and terrorism. This list includes both militant groups and various charities that are now under scrutiny due to their suspected links to illegal activities.

According to the official notification, the following organizations have been officially banned:

  • Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
    Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan
    Jaish-e-Muhammad
    Al-Rehmat Trust (Bahawalpur)
    Al-Furqan Trust (Karachi)
    Lashkar-e-Taiba
    Sipah Sahaba Pakistan
    Tehreek-e-Jaffaria Pakistan
    Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi
    Tehreek-e-Islami, Al-Qaeda
    Millat-e-Islamia Pakistan

In addition to these primary proscribed entities, the list extends to several other groups accused of promoting violence and extremism:

  • Khuddam-ul-Islam
  • Islamic Tehreek Pakistan
  • Jamiat-ul-Ansar
  • Jamaat-ul-Furqan
  • Hizb-ut-Tahrir
  • Khair-un-Nas International Trust
  • Balochistan Liberation Front
  • Islamic Students Movement of Pakistan
  • Lashkar-e-Islam
  • Ansar-ul-Islam
  • Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)
  • Baloch Republican Army (BRA)
  • Several other unlisted organizations

Additionally, certain religious and charitable groups have also been blacklisted, including:
• People’s Aman Committee (Lyari)
• Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat
• Al Harmain Foundation
• Maaz Bin Jabal Educational Trust
• Falah Insaniyat Foundation
• Pak-Turk International CAG Education Foundation

The Punjab Home Department has made it clear that any involvement with these organizations, whether through financial donations or other forms of support, will be subject to strict legal consequences under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.

Authorities have also strongly advised the public to refrain from donating to unregistered or banned charities. Any funds directed towards these organizations could lead to criminal charges, further emphasizing the importance of contributing only to legitimate and law-abiding institutions.

This move is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to curb terrorism financing and prevent extremism from spreading within the region. Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activities involving banned groups or unregistered charities to the relevant authorities.
